At APPEX 2024, Wallop Water USA proudly partnered with the event to provide hydration solutions through EVENTA portable, double-sided, custom-branded water stations. Designed to offer a convenient and eco-friendly way for attendees to stay hydrated, these stations showcased APPEXS’ commitment to sustainability while enhancing brand visibility. With reusable water bottle giveaways and strategically placed stations, their initiative encouraged attendees to reduce single-use plastic waste and embrace sustainable habits.

Reusable Bottle Giveaway – A Resounding Success
The reusable bottle giveaway was a standout feature of the event. Due to their immense popularity, the bottles ran out by the morning of Day 2. Attendees eagerly used them to refill at the hydration stations, with three out of four participants expressing satisfaction with the initiative. Many noted the scarcity of other water sources within the expo, further emphasizing the value of this activation. Promoting hydration stations in pre-event communications and encouraging attendees to bring their own bottles could elevate participation.
High Traffic, High Impact
The hydration stations were constantly used, with some locations outperforming others due to strategic placement. For instance, a station in a prime central area dispensed nearly 100 gallons, demonstrating the demand in high-traffic zones. The HYDRO-IQ data highlights the importance of optimal placement to maximize accessibility and impact for attendees.
Insights into Placement Optimization
Analyzing consumption data revealed opportunities for improvement. Stations in central intersections saw significantly more usage than those on the perimeter. For example, one station recorded 97.88 gallons, while a nearby one on the perimeter reached just 13.34 gallons. Relocating or adding stations to central, high-traffic locations can enhance accessibility and attendee satisfaction in future events.
Opportunities for Growth and Engagement
Exhibitor-Branded Water Stations
An exciting opportunity emerged during the event: exhibitors could enhance engagement by hosting custom-branded hydration stations at their booths. This approach would allow exhibitors to interact directly with potential clients, offering them a branded bottle and refreshing, chilled water. With the potential for up to 20 exhibitor-branded stations, this initiative could deliver substantial value for brands and attendees.
