Arada’s custom-branded hydration wall transformed sustainable drinking water into a permanent statement piece throughout the 25th Biennale of Sydney
SYDNEY, 14 June 2026 — WALLOP WATER has officially launched the WALLOP WATER WALL, a new semi-permanent hydration infrastructure solution designed for public venues, cultural institutions, developers, and long-duration activations. Its first installation debuted at the 25th Biennale of Sydney at White Bay Power Station, where more than 174,000 visitors attended Australia’s largest contemporary art event from 14 March to 14 June 2026.Over the three-month exhibition, visitors discovered something unexpected between installations: free, chilled, filtered water delivered through a striking, fully branded hydration wall that became both a practical amenity and a visual centrepiece. The result was a sustainability initiative that people didn’t just use — they actively engaged with.
A Brief from a Client Who Meant It
The WATER WALL was custom-designed and wrapped for Arada, the international developer whose philosophy of “building inside ecosystems, not over them” informed every aspect of the installation.
Featuring messaging such as “Clean water is a principle. Saving it is a responsibility,” the wall transformed a functional water station into a meaningful brand experience that naturally aligned with the Biennale’s 2026 theme, Rememory.
Arada wasn’t looking for another banner or promotional activation.
They wanted a visible, practical sustainability solution that delivered genuine environmental outcomes and created a memorable experience for visitors.
The WATER WALL delivered both.
The Numbers Tell the Story
Service That Didn’t Stop at Installation
The WATER WALL was never intended to be a set-and-forget installation.
Throughout the exhibition, WALLOP WATER provided weekly servicing to maintain water quality, performance, and presentation standards, along with monthly sustainability reporting that gave Arada real-time visibility into environmental outcomes.
This end-to-end model is central to WALLOP WATER’s Hydration-as-a-Service approach.
From design and installation through logistics, servicing, water quality management, and sustainability reporting, clients invest in the outcome while WALLOP WATER manages the entire solution.
The Future of Sustainable Hydration Infrastructure
The WATER WALL reflects a growing shift away from temporary sustainability initiatives toward permanent hydration infrastructure that delivers measurable environmental outcomes while enhancing the visitor experience.
For Arada, a single installation achieved multiple objectives:
- Eliminated thousands of single-use plastic bottles
- Delivered a valuable public amenity
- Generated highly visible brand engagement
- Produced credible ESG reporting data
- Enhanced the visitor experience at one of Australia’s largest cultural events
“The WATER WALL demonstrates that sustainable infrastructure doesn’t have to disappear into the background. It can become part of the visitor experience while delivering measurable environmental benefits.
Arada challenged us to create something that reflected their sustainability values, and together we delivered an installation that people actively engaged with throughout the Biennale.”
— Bruce Plant, Director, WALLOP WATER
As a proud member of MUSE (Members United for Sustainable Events) and a supporter of Net Zero Carbon Events, WALLOP WATER continues to demonstrate that the future of hydration is not pallets of plastic bottles hidden behind venues.
It’s smart, visible infrastructure that provides chilled, filtered drinking water while delivering measurable environmental outcomes.
The 25th Biennale of Sydney may be over, but the WALLOP WATER WALL is only getting started.
Following its successful debut, the WATER WALL is now available to councils, developers, cultural institutions, transport hubs, education precincts, and public venues seeking long-term or permanent hydration infrastructure solutions.
